Enjoy Consistently Good Sleep

Sleep is vital for your health and well being. Yet millions of us are not getting sufficient rest. Sleep deprivation is a common condition that afflicts 47 million American adults, or almost a quarter of the adult population. According to the National Sleep Foundation, 60% of adults report having sleep problems a few nights a week or more. In addition, more than 40% of adults experience daytime sleepiness which interferes with daily activities at least a few days each month and 20% report sleep problems a few days a week or more. Over one-quarter of working adults (28%) said they missed work, events, and activities in the previous three months due to sleep-related issues. People who drove after being awake for 17–19 hours performed worse than those with a blood alcohol level of 0.05% (Blood Alcohol Limit for Western Europe) or 0.08% (Blood Alcohol Limit for USA).

Getting less sleep than what your body requires has serious consequences. Symptoms can interfere with memory, energy levels, mental abilities, and emotional mood. According to WebMD reports, chronic sleep deprivation increases risk of early death. Studies show there is a greater risk for heart disease and heart attacks as well as obesity. In addition, insufficient sleep adversely affects the frontal cortex's ability to control speech, access memory, and solve problems. A sleep-deprived individual suffers from slower reaction time, weaker memory, and other thinking impairments. Major accidents have been linked in part with lack of sleep: Three Mile Island, Chernobyl, and the Exxon Valdez. According to the "Sleep in America" poll in 2004, 60% of American drivers reported driving in a drowsy state and 4% had an accident or near-accident. Fatigue contributes to more than 100,000 highway crashes, 71,000 injuries, and 1,500 deaths each year in the United States alone.

The trend in industrialized nations over the last hundred years suggests that people are increasingly sleep deprived. In 1910, the average person slept 9.0 hours a night. By 1975, the total had fallen to 7.5 hours. The same "Sleep in America" poll indicates that the average American adult now only sleeps 6.9 hours a night; this leads to fatigue and exhaustion. Shift workers suffer more than other people. Many shift workers average only five hours a night. A number of studies have reported that shift work throws off the body's circadian rhythm and have suggested that such changes could lead to chronic insomnia. One study found that 53% of night-shift workers fall asleep on the job at least once a week, implying that their internal clocks do not adjust to unusual work times. They are also at much higher risk than other workers for automobile accidents due to their drowsiness and may also have a higher risk for health problems in general. A Japanese study reporting on different aspects of insomnia found that excessive computer work was associated with all forms of insomnia. People who were over-involved with their work tended to have trouble falling asleep and they tended to awaken earlier than average.

Western medicine relies on aggressive prescription drugs to deal with many problems related to sleep deprivation. Unfortunately, these methods often result in unwanted and even dangerous side effects. And natural pills provide fleeting, inconsistent results.

About Ayurveda and India Herbs

Overview...

Ayurvedic Medicine is also called Ayurveda. It is a system of medicine that originated in India several thousand years ago. The term Ayurveda combines two Sanskrit words: ayur, which means life, and veda, which means science or knowledge. Ayurveda means "the science of life."

Ayurveda is a whole medical system which integrates and balances the body, mind, and spirit (thus, it is considered "holistic"). This balance is necessary for contentment and good health. Ayurveda also proposes treatments for specific health problems. A primary aim of Ayurvedic medicine is to cleanse the body of substances that can cause disease. This helps re-establish the harmony and balance necessary for optimal health.

Ayurveda has long been the main system of health care in India. About 70 percent of India's population lives in rural areas; about two-thirds of rural people use Ayurveda and medicinal plants to meet their primary health care needs. In addition, most major cities have an Ayurvedic college and hospital. There are 587,536 registered traditional medical practitioners, 2,860 hospitals providing Ayurvedic treatment, and 22,100 dispensaries for traditional medicine in India. This allows over 500 million people in India to rely solely on Ayurveda today.

Ayurveda and variations of it have also been practiced for centuries in Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Tibet. The professional practice of Ayurveda in the United States began to grow and became more visible in the late 20th century.

Professional Accreditation

Practitioners of Ayurveda have various types of training. Some are trained in the Western medical tradition (such as medical or nursing school) and then study Ayurveda. Others may have training in naturopathic medicine, a whole medical system, either before or after their Ayurvedic training. Many study in India, where there are more than 150 undergraduate and more than 30 postgraduate colleges for Ayurveda. This training can take up to 5 years.

Reliance on Herbs

According to World Health Organization report, over 80% of the world population relies on plant-based traditional medicine for their primary healthcare needs.

In Ayurveda, the distinction between food and medicine is not as clear as in Western medicine. Food and diet are important components of Ayurvedic practice, and so there is a heavy reliance on treatments based on herbs and plants, oils (such as sesame oil), common spices (such as turmeric), and other naturally occurring substances.

Currently, some 5,000 products are included in the "pharmacy" of Ayurvedic treatments. Historically, plant compounds have been grouped into categories according to their effects. For example, some compounds are thought to heal, promote vitality, or relieve pain. The compounds are described in many texts prepared through national medical agencies in India. The following are examples of commonly used herbs:

The spice turmeric has been used for various diseases and conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis, Alzheimer's disease, and wound healing.

An extract from the resin from a tropical shrub (Commiphora mukul, or guggul) has been used for a variety of illnesses. In recent years, there has been research interest in its use to lower cholesterol.

The essential oil extracted from Holy Basil is used as counteract depression and mental stress.

India has 16 agro-climatic zones, 45,000 different plant species, and 15,000 medicinal plants. The Indian Systems of Medicine have identified 1,500 medicinal plants, of which 500 species are mostly used in the preparation of drugs. These medicinal plants contribute to 80% of the raw materials used in the preparation of Ayurvedic Medicine.

FAQ About Yogic Slim

Q: What is Yogic Slim?

A: Yogic Slim is a natural herbal formula for weight loss that works on the body and mind to regulate appetite, optimize digestion and nutrient absorption, increase metabolism and energy, and reduce cholesterol and body fat. The constituent herbs work to correct harm done over the years and reduce the propensity for weight gain in the future without the negative side effects of conventional drugs. For thousands of years, yogis have maintained supreme physiques and achieved longevity with diets naturally rich in Ayurvedic herbs. Yogic Slim applies this ancient wisdom to help you realize the same slim figure and vitality as Indian yogis.

Q: How does Yogic Slim work?

A: Yogic Slim is based on the findings of Ayurveda, the world's oldest medical system. Herbs from throughout India are formulated into a blend that engender enzymatic activity in the thyroid to increase metabolism, rejuvenate the liver which holds the key to many of the body's fat-burning mechanisms, minimize nervous tension to remove turmoil in the digestive tract, promote production of digestive enzymes to hasten digestion so food has less opportunity to be converted into stored fat, support blood formation which has a positive impact on the body's energy levels, maintain a healthy balance of cholesterol, triglycerides, and phospholipids, retard the buildup of fatty plaques that may harden arteries, and introduce equilibrium that prevents excess appetite.

Q: What is the dosage?

A: Take one pill, twice a day with meals. That's all. Yogic Slim is natural and herbal.

Q: Are there any side-effects?

A: No. Yogic Slim pills are comprised of a non-prescription herbal formula that is safe for you to use. All ingredients have been deemed safe for human consumption by the FDA.

Q: How long before I see results?

Here is a realistic timetable for what you can expect when Yogic Slim is used in conjunction with a balanced diet / exercise program and sufficient rest:

Week One Through Week Four
During this period you will feel calmer while experiencing heightened energy levels and strength. Your digestion functions will improve and food cravings will become more subdued. A less burdened digestive tract in conjunction with greater control over eating habits will result in weight loss in the range of 1 to 2 kg.

Week Four Through Week Eight
Now you will start to notice marked improvements in physique and vitality. You will have greater mastery over eating habits and your body will be able to process meals with relative ease. Accompanied by a feeling of lightness in your core, you will enjoy rising energy levels as nutrient transport mechanisms work with greater efficiency, the body's metabolism is stimulated to burn more calories, and fat storage is reduced. You will experience weight loss in the range of 2 kg.

Week Nine And Beyond
Improved health and feeling of well-being will encourage you to become more active. Increased activity, regularity in appetite, ease in digestion, minimized fat storage, and heightened metabolism of calories will lead you towards a cycle of weight loss and improved vitality. You can expect weight loss in the range of 2 kg.

Testimonials

I have been taking Yogic Slim for about 5 weeks now. And I have lost weight, and I sleep better, and my circulation has improved and I am very happy with the product. And the reason why I was looking for something was because I wanted to restore my thyroid and lose weight. And after research on the Internet by my husband Juan, we found this product and I was willing to try it even though I've been trying many things for several years and never had any results. And this is Elizabeth from Australia. Thank you. Bye.
Elizabeth (age 56) - Australia

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Anne,
I am so grateful to have discovered Yogic Slim. As can happen, after a lifetime of being active, I gained weight during a career change. This weight gain was then exacerbated by injuries following a car accident which had rendered me inactive. I was shocked, I had become downright fat and very depressed! I tried diet and exercise on my own with minimal results. Concerned for my health, and to facilitate my treatment for the car accident injuries, I pursued nutritional counseling and holistic healing. My primary goals were to make a lifestyle change that included weight loss and obtaining better health. Yogic Slim was suggested for me as it was believed that it would help "jump start" my metabolism and might facilitate my weight loss goals. I was skeptical as I have never believed that any weight loss supplement would actually work.

Yogic Slim has worked for me. I honestly know this as prior diet and exercise were only minimally successful and I remained the same weight, and shape, for months. However AFTER taking Yogic Slim these results were dramatically improved as I started to lose weight at a steady rate. I have maintained this steady weight loss rate for months and have now lost approximately 43 pounds. I believe that Yogic Slim has helped maximize the results of my weight loss efforts. In addition, after taking Yogic Slim I felt more energetic and had the unforeseen benefit of clearer, brighter skin. I have been very satisfied with this product and, especially, with the results I have achieved while taking Yogic Slim.
Thank you for your wonderful product.
Erin

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yogic Slim is great. I haven't used the product long enough to see any weight loss but I'm enjoying other health improvements. Simply feeling well in my body was reason enough for me to make a second order right away. Yogic Slim helps me to think clearer, gives me energy, and it controls hunger and food cravings. I'm anticipating shedding some of these extra pounds real soon. Overall I love the product.
Stephanie

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I just want to say that I am so happy with the Yogic-slim. I started taking it 2 weeks ago, and immediately noticed a change in my appetite. Now I'm one of those people who has a real problem with overeating. I have been on diets and always have gone on pure willpower. This time, however, it's not just willpower. I really am not as hungry. I'm in the 3rd week and am starting to notice more energy too. 2 of my friends are using it too. I was wondering why you don't have any testimonials on your website? If you need one, here it is!!
Liz

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am very happy with your product. Along with exercise and eating healthy it works. But, I have found it works for something else that is unbelievable. I am working on it. I will let you know. It would be something for women all over the world. I just need to finish putting it together. I will keep you posted.
Sincerely, Karen

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I realize I've only been taking your product about two weeks, but...about 5 or 6 years ago, I was seeing a traditional Chinese doctor (I usually trying alternative medicine first). I was being treated for bad sinuses. I had an adverse reaction to an herb (my "tea" contained 8-19 herbs) and gained 20 pounds in a month. The doctor thought it was impossible to have gained fat in that time cause he saw my food intake record and exercise record.

What's interesting is that a medical doctor tried giving my a prescription water pill a year or two ago --and it did absolutely nothing. Since I've been taking your product, I feel like I'm taking a water pill. Have you had any reports that maybe this combination of herbs readjusts bodily functions that were astray?

I just have not been able to get rid of this excess water, so I'm very excited about your product and how it has helped reduce hunger pangs and eat less. I'm anxious to try it for a month -- and maybe longer!
Cheryl

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shortly I will need to order Yogi Slim. I am so impressed with your product, I was wondering if you had product to increase energy.
Thank you, Cheryl

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After 3 weeks of using your product, I will be ordering 3 more bottles. I have experienced weight lose and my appetite decreased. Thank you for the opportunity to try your product.
Jill

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have been taking Yogic Slim for two weeks now and have lost weight (fat). I have not changed my diet ( it is pretty low caloric in intake) nor my exercise regimen ( 1 hour daily, 7 days per week).

Prostate Care --FAQ
Ayurveda Formula --FAQ

Q: What is Ayurstate?

A: Ayurstate contains the most potent prostate rejuvenating herbal concentrates available in Ayurvedic Science. When formulated in the correct amounts and blended by our proprietary process, Ayurstate will decrease the size of your prostate and reduce urethra inflammation by inhibiting the production of damaging metabolites and enzymes. Ayurstate will also improve your urine flow, semen production, and ejaculation control. The destructive effect of stomach acids on active herbal ingredients have prevented the introduction of this ancient wisdom in capsule form for centuries. The team at India Herbs has solved this problem by developing a potentiating formula in conjunction with natural absorption catalysts and bioenhancing capsule coating to prevent premature degradation of key constituents.

Q: How does Ayurstate work?

A: Ayurstate nourishes and stimulates the exocrine glands to relieve effects of prostate-related problems by normalizing the size of your prostate and keeping it from getting larger as a result of exposure to excess estrogen. This is accomplished through inhibition of polyamines and prostaglandins in the prostate. Ayurstate also supports and balances the healthy flow of urine by toning smooth muscles located in the urinogenital system and reducing inflammation of the urethra and prostate gland. In the long-term, Ayurstate aids in the maintenance of sexual health and reproductive vitality by rejuvenating the prostate gland at the cellular level.

Q: What is the dosage?

A: Take two capsules daily, preferably with a meal. That's all. Ayurstate is natural and herbal.

Q: Are there any side-effects?

A: No. Ayurstate capsules are comprised of a non-prescription formula that is safe for you to consume. All ingredients have been deemed safe for human consumption by the FDA.

Q: Who should order Ayurstate?

A: You should order Ayurstate if you want to successfully manage your prostate health with a proven herbal formula. This product is doctor approved. It is all natural. And its science has been tested and proven over the course of 5,000 years.

Q: How long before I see results?

Here is a realistic timetable for what you can expect when Ayurstate is used in conjunction with a balanced diet / exercise program and sufficient rest:

Week One Through Week Four
During this period, you will feel more relaxed and less discomfort during urination. Full bladder sensation will dissipate and you will experience less pain in the pelvic area. You will be able to sleep better at night and wake up feeling more energetic!

Week Four Through Week Eight
Now you will start to notice marked improvements in your urogenital system. Your urination cycle will be normalized as recurrent, sudden, and urgent need to urinate is suppressed. You will no longer need to strain or exert yourself to urinate. As your prostate size is reduced, your ejaculations will become more significant and pleasurable.

Week Nine And Beyond
Most inflammation and pain will be gone. Urination will be normalized. Your reproductive system will be functioning at full throttle again. As your anxieties are removed, increased sensitivity of your erogenous zones along with higher sex drive, supreme erections, and powerful ejaculations will allow you to enjoy more sexual pleasure and intense orgasms. How a Herbal Therapist Works

Most herbal therapists (sometimes called herbalists- but not all herbalists treat clients medically) believe that the body acts in unison with the psyche (spirit) and emotions to maintain the equilibrium necessary for overall health and well-being. With this holistic approach herbal therapists use their knowledge of plant properties to rebalance a client's life energy levels so that his or her body heals itself.

Generally speaking conventional medicine takes the view that the mind and the body are separate entities, If there is illness or disease in the body, the symptoms and the affected part are treated in isolation. For example, an allergic reaction might be treated with antihistamines by a conventional doctor, while a therapeutic physician would look for the root of the problem, and address that. Every therapeutic herbalist acknowledges that there is a role for surgical procedures and drugs in some situations. The advances of modern medicine can complement medical herbalism, and vice versa.

Visiting a Herbal Therapist

The first session with your herbalist is for gathering information. You can expect to discuss
your current complaint - your symptoms, the length of time you have been suffering, and what medical care you have received your medical history - every illness or injury that you can remember is important your lifestyle - every aspect of your lifestyle is also important - how much stress you are under, how you sleep and when, and what you eat and drink; a herbalist will often offer advice on diet and exercise alongside treatment for your illness, so it is important that you tell him or her as much as you can about yourself your emotional state some illnesses are exacerbated by emotional trauma or upset, so your emotional health will also be relevant
your work and any occupational or environmental hazards that might be affecting your health.

Any physical examination during the visit is similar to that carried out by your family physician. During the first session, it i's likely that most of the following will be done your blood pressure measured your eyes and ears examined our heart or chest listened to by stethoscope
palpation by hand of an area where the tone of the organs or muscles is in question blood or urine samples may occasionally be required.

An initial consultation lasts about one hour. Once the picture is clear and a diagnosis is made, the therapist prescribes one or a combination of several remedies tailored to suit the client and may advise on whia foods to avoid or to favor in order to aid recovery. The most common forms of remedy include tinetures, capsules or lozenges, ointments, and creams. Many herbal therapists are happy to work together with the client's local physician, especially when the client is already receiving conventional medical treatment.

Male Virility and Potency

Male Reproductive System

The purpose of the organs of the male reproductive system is to perform the following functions: To produce, maintain, and transport sperm (the male reproductive cells) and protective fluid (semen)
To discharge sperm within the female reproductive tract during sex
To produce and secrete male sex hormones responsible for maintaining the male reproductive system

The external structures of the male reproduction system include the penis, scrotum, and testicles.

Penis - This is the male organ used in sexual intercourse. It has 3 parts: the root, which attaches to the wall of the abdomen; the body, or shaft; and the glans, which is the cone-shaped part at the end of the penis. The glans, also called the head of the penis, is covered with a loose layer of skin called foreskin. (This skin is sometimes removed in a procedure called circumcision.) The opening of the urethra, the tube that transports semen and urine, is at the tip of the penis. The penis also contains a number of sensitive nerve endings.

The body of the penis is cylindrical in shape and consists of 3 circular shaped chambers. These chambers are made up of special, sponge-like tissue. This tissue contains thousands of large spaces that fill with blood when the man is sexually aroused. As the penis fills with blood, it becomes rigid and erect, which allows for penetration during sexual intercourse. The skin of the penis is loose and elastic to accommodate changes in penis size during an erection.

Semen, which contains sperm (reproductive cells), is expelled (ejaculated) through the end of the penis when the man reaches sexual climax (orgasm). When the penis is erect, the flow of urine is blocked from the urethra, allowing only semen to be ejaculated at orgasm.

Scrotum - This is the loose pouch-like sac of skin that hangs behind the penis. It contains the testicles (also called testes), as well as many nerves and blood vessels. The scrotum acts as a "climate control system" for the testes. For normal sperm development, the testes must be at a temperature slightly cooler than body temperature. Special muscles in the wall of the scrotum allow it to contract and relax, moving the testicles closer to the body for warmth or farther away from the body to cool the temperature.

Testicles (testes) - These are oval organs about the size of large olives that lie in the scrotum, secured at either end by a structure called the spermatic cord. Most men have two testes. The testes are responsible for making testosterone, the primary male sex hormone, and for generating sperm. Within the testes are coiled masses of tubes called seminiferous tubules. These tubes are responsible for producing sperm cells.

The internal organs of the male reproductive system, also called accessory organs, include the following:

Epididymis - The epididymis is a long, coiled tube that rests on the backside of each testicle. It transports and stores sperm cells that are produced in the testes. It also is the job of the epididymis to bring the sperm to maturity, since the sperm that emerge from the testes are immature and incapable of fertilization. During sexual arousal, contractions force the sperm into the vas deferens.

Vas (Ductus) Deferens - The vas deferens is a long, muscular tube that travels from the epididymis into the pelvic cavity, to just behind the bladder. The vas deferens transports mature sperm to the urethra, the tube that carries urine or sperm to outside of the body, in preparation for ejaculation.

Ejaculatory Ducts - These are formed by the fusion of the vas deferens and the seminal vesicles. The ejaculatory ducts empty into the urethra.

Urethra - The urethra is the tube that carries urine from the bladder to outside of the body. In males, it has the additional function of ejaculating semen when the man reaches orgasm. When the penis is erect during sex, the flow of urine is blocked from the urethra, allowing only semen to be ejaculated at orgasm.

Seminal Vesicles - The seminal vesicles are sac-like pouches that attach to the vas deferens near the base of the bladder. The seminal vesicles produce a sugar-rich fluid (fructose) that provides sperm with a source of energy to help them move. The fluid of the seminal vesicles makes up most of the volume of a man's ejaculatory fluid, or ejaculate.

Prostate Gland - The prostate gland is a walnut-sized structure that is located below the urinary bladder in front of the rectum. The prostate gland contributes additional fluid to the ejaculate. Prostate fluids also help to nourish the sperm. The urethra, which carries the ejaculate to be expelled during orgasm, runs through the center of the prostate gland.

Bulbourethral Glands - Also called Cowper's glands, these are pea-sized structures located on the sides of the urethra just below the prostate gland. These glands produce a clear, slippery fluid that empties directly into the urethra. This fluid serves to lubricate the urethra and to neutralize any acidity that may be present due to residual drops of urine in the urethra.

The entire male reproductive system is dependent on hormones, which are chemicals that regulate the activity of many different types of cells or organs. The primary hormones involved in the male reproductive system are follicle-stimulating hormone, luteinizing hormone, and testosterone.

Follicle-stimulating hormone is necessary for sperm production (spermatogenesis) and luteinizing hormone stimulates the production of testosterone, which is also needed to make sperm. Testosterone is responsible for the development of male characteristics, including muscle mass and strength, fat distribution, bone mass, facial hair growth, voice change and sex drive.

Infertility and Men
Sperm are made in the testicles. They are then stored inside yards of “plumbing” called the epididymis, which lies on top of each testicle. Sperm are nourished by semen, which is made by glands along the way. When the magic moment arrives, about 150 million sperm are ejaculated in a half-teaspoon of semen through the penis.

When men are young and most likely to be fathering children, sperm numbers and semen quality and quantity should be at their peak. As men get older, changes occur in the prostate and surrounding accessory glands which result in decreased semen volume over time. This is normal as men age.

Although some people still think of fertility as a "woman's problem," up to half of all cases of infertility involve problems with the male partner. A problem with the semen or sperm affects more than one-third of the couples who are unable to have children. Infertility in a man may be the sole reason that a couple can't conceive, or it may simply add to the difficulties caused by infertility in his partner.

30% of men are sub-fertile and at least 2% are totally infertile. There are at least 2 million cases of male infertility reported in the USA each year. Up to 25% of infertile men have abnormal or low sperm counts causing their infertility, for no identifiable reason. This is called idiopathic infertility.

Semen Analysis
Semen Analysis is usually one of the first tests done to help determine whether a man has a problem fathering a child (infertility). Also it may be done to test the success of a vasectomy or reversal of vasectomy.

Semen Analysis measures the amount of semen a man produces and determines the number and quality of sperm in the semen sample. The sample is usually collected through masturbation. Semen Analysis can detect the following problems:

Azoospermia - No sperm are produced, or the sperm aren't appearing in the semen.

Oligiospermia - Few sperm are produced.

Problems with sperm motility - If sperm aren't moving normally, they are less likely to be capable of fertilizing an egg.

Problems with sperm morphology - Problems with the form and structure -- or morphology -- of the sperm may cause infertility.

Semen Analysis tests include:

Volume - This is a measure of how much semen is present in one ejaculation. The normal range is 1.0 to 6.5 milliliters (ml) per ejaculation.

Liquefaction time - Semen is a thick gel at the time of ejaculation and normally becomes liquid within 20 minutes after ejaculation. Liquefaction time is a measure of the time it takes for the semen to liquefy. Normal time should be less than 60 minutes. A longer liquefaction time may indicate an infection.

Sperm count - This is a count of the number of sperm present per ml of semen in one ejaculation. The normal range is 20 to 150 million sperm per ml. If a man has had a vasectomy, the count should be 0.

Sperm morphology - This is a measure of the percentage of sperm that have a normal shape. Normally at least 70% of the sperm have normal shape and structure.

Sperm motility - This is a measure of the percentage of sperm that can move forward normally. The number of sperm that show normal forward movement in a certain amount of semen can also be measured (motile density). Normally 60% of the sperm (at least 8 million sperm per ml) should show normal forward movement.

pH - This is a measure of the acidity (low pH) or alkalinity (high pH) of the semen. The normal range is 7.1 to 8.0.

White blood cell count - White blood cells are not normally present in semen. A large number of white blood cells being present indicates an infection.

Fructose level - This is a measure of the amount of a sugar called fructose in the semen. The fructose provides energy for the sperm. Normally there are 300 milligrams (mg) of fructose per 100 ml of semen. Less than this indicates a blockage of the seminal vesicles.

Varying degrees of infertility are associated with one or more of the above tests not being within normal range.

Blood Analysis
If Semen Analysis indicates a problem, then further testing may include Blood Analysis for the following:

Testosterone - Testosterone plays a role in sperm production. Normal ranges for total testosterone are 270 to 1,080 ng/dL (men aged 20 to 39), 350 to 890 ng/dL (men aged 40 to 59), and 350 to 720 ng/dL (men aged 60 and above). Normal free testosterone levels in men range from 44 to 244 pg/mL. Abnormally high levels may be caused by cancer of the testicles or adrenal glands. Abnormally low levels can be caused by Klinefelter syndrome, Down syndrome, liver disease, treatment for cancer of the prostate gland, and chronic alcohol use.

Luteinizing Hormone (LH) - When the testosterone level is low, the pituitary gland releases LH which tells the testicles to make more testosterone. The normal range is 1 to 9 IU/L. Abnormally high levels indicate the testicles are absent or have been removed, testicles are not functioning, or Klinefelter syndrome is present. Abnormally low levels may indicate Anorexia Nervosa, pituitary gland failure, damage to the hypothalamus, stress, or low body weight.

Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH) - The pituitary gland produces FSH which helps control the production of sperm. The normal range in men is 5 to 15 IU/L. High FSH levels may indicate Klinefelter syndrome or the testicles are absent or not functioning properly. Low FSH levels may indicate that the hypothalamus or pituitary gland is not functioning properly, brain tumor, stress, or starvation.

Prolactin - The pituitary gland produces the hormone prolactin. The normal level in men is less than 20 ng/mL. High levels of prolactin (usually higher than 200 ng/mL) may mean a pituitary gland tumor, liver disease, kidney disease, or hypothyroidism. Excessive prolactin can lead to a decrease in testosterone as well as abnormal sperm.

Other Factors
Besides problems related to sperm and hormones, other factors may cause male infertility:

Sexually transmitted diseases or infections like Chlamydia and Gonorrhea. Once the infection is treated, infertility usually goes away.

Blockages / damage in parts of the testicle that prevent sperm from getting into semen.

Retrograde ejaculation where semen doesn't come out of the penis during ejaculation but instead enters the bladder. This is caused by diabetes, certain medications, and surgery to the bladder, prostate, or urethra.

Genetic diseases like cystic fibrosis and chromosomal disorders.

Autoimmune problems where the immune system mistakenly targets sperm cells as a foreign virus and damages them.

Erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation.

Enlarged varicose veins in the scrotum (Varicoceles) that prevent blood from flowing properly. Varicoceles are found in 15% of all men and 40% of men being evaluated for infertility.

Excessive exercise may lead to the release of too many steroid hormones.

Stress.

Obesity.

Use of drugs (like marijuana, cocaine, steroids), alcohol, or tobacco.

Exposure to toxins and environmental hazards like pesticides, lead, radiation, mercury, and heavy metals.

High temperatures in the testicles resulting from wearing clothing that's too tight, frequent bike riding, or taking too many hot baths or saunas. This effect is usually temporary.

Western Medicine
Western medicine relies on aggressive and costly prescription drugs and surgery to deal with problems related to reproductive disorders. Antibiotics are effective in treating infections which hinder fertility. Surgical treatment is effective for repairing Varicoceles and obstructions in the sperm transport system. In vitro fertilization (IVF) works well also. During IVF, eggs are removed from the ovaries and combined with sperm in the laboratory. The fertilized eggs are placed into the woman's uterus.

Medications are effective in only about 5% of men with hormonal imbalance.

When hormonal imbalance is the result of disrupted signals between the hypothalamus, pituitary gland, and the testes (thereby affecting sperm production), men often receive Gonadotropins injections (2 or 3 times a week) which are helpful but might take up to a year to achieve normal fertility. There are 3 types of Gonadotropins: human chronic (hCG), human menopausal (hMG), and recombinant human follicle-stimulating hormone (rFSH). Side effects in men include acne, breast enlargement, changes in emotions or mood, headache, and inflammation at the injection site.

Testosterone deficiency attributed to a lack of Gonadotropins is treated with Antiestrogen medications like tamoxifen (Nolvadex) and clomiphene citrate (Clomid) which stimulate the release of Gonadotropins. However the use of Antiestrogen durgs may boost testosterone production in men to above normal levels which can negatively impact sperm production. Side effects of these drugs include hot flashes, nausea, dizziness, blurred vision, vomiting, weight gain or loss, elevated cholesterol and other fats in the blood, abnormally high levels of calcium in the blood, muscle pain and weakness, loss of appetite, and kidney failure.

Excessive prolactin is treated by Bromocriptine medication. Side effects of Bromocriptine in men include high blood pressure, worsening of mental and liver disorders, confusion, hallucinations, and uncontrolled bodily movements.

Hypogonadism (lack of testosterone production) is treated by synthetic testosterone administered through oral pills, injections, or transdermal gel / patch. Testosterone pills have been associated with elevated liver function and abnormalities in liver scans and biopsy. Injections require frequent trips to the fertility specialist and do not always provide a consistent level of hormones causing a man's libido, energy levels, and mood to fluctuate. Transdermal applications, while more expensive, are proving to be a popular choice because they are considered the safest and most efficient for providing a consistent level of testosterone in the body. The most troublesome side effect is the natural ability of the body to produce testosterone is reduced with the administration of synthetic testosterone.

Once medication is stopped, the body will produce even less testosterone than it did prior to medication!

Other side effects include vomiting, nausea, swelling of the arms and legs, yellowing of the skin and eyes, prolonged and painful erections, difficulty in breathing, swelling of the tongue, lips, or face, shrinking of testicles, gynecomastia (breast growth in men), changes in libido, decreased sperm production, male pattern baldness, water retention, liver damage, and cancer.

Ayurvedic Medicine
Ayurveda, the science of life, prevention, and longevity, is the oldest and most holistic and comprehensive medical system available. Its fundamentals can be found in Hindu scriptures called the Vedas - the ancient Indian books of wisdom written over 5,000 years ago. Ayurveda uses the inherent principles of nature to help maintain health in a person by keeping the individual's body, mind, and spirit in perfect equilibrium with nature.

India Herbs has a seasoned group of Ayurvedic doctors specialized in Vajikarana, one of the eight major specialties of Ayurveda. Vajikarana is "a process or a drug, which make a man as healthy as a ox and able to undergo many hours of physical rigors." Vajikarana prescribes the therapeutic use of various herbal and tonic preparations for enhancing the capabilities and vigor of the your reproductive and urogenital system while strengthening the body and overall well-being.

India Herbs' Vajikarana scientists combine a proprietary herbal formula based on centuries' old wisdom with advice on diet, exercise, mental training, and relaxation to help men address their potency concerns for the long-term through safe, natural means.

Recommendations
You can optimize your semen volume, sperm production, and fertility by:

1) Reversing Damage - Years of stressful living caused damage to your body. To help reverse this, Sukraja releases hundreds of phytonutrients that act at the molecular level to elevate hormone levels, stimulate liver functions, remove toxins, nourish nerves, rejuvenate your prostate gland and testicles, reduce sperm abnormalities, and improve your sexual response.

2) Taking a Multi-Vitamin - A daily multivitamin can help provide selenium, zinc and folic acid — trace nutrients that are important for optimal sperm production and function. A multi-vitamin also usually contains antioxidant vitamins such as C and E, which may help protect sperm from damage.

3) Reducing Stress - Researchers are investigating whether stress might interfere with certain hormones needed to produce sperm. Stress can also impair sexual function.

4) Exercising Regularly - Physical activity is good for reproductive health as well as your overall health. But don't overdo it. Men who exercise to exhaustion show a temporary change in hormone levels and a drop in sperm quality.

5) Maintaining Optimal Weight - Too much or too little body fat may disrupt production of reproductive hormones, which can reduce your sperm count and increase your percentage of abnormal sperm. You are most likely to produce lots of high-quality sperm if you maintain a healthy weight.

6) Minimizing Exposure to Toxins - Experts think certain workplace and household substances might have an effect on sperm quantity and quality. These include heavy metals, and pesticides and chemicals in solvents. Use protective clothing, proper ventilation, and face masks to reduce the risk of absorbing such toxins.

7) Quitting Smoking - The sperm of men who smoke may be misshapen and may move more slowly than those of nonsmokers. Smoking can also damage your sperm's DNA. Experts suspect such damage could even affect fetal growth and development and increase a child's chance of having certain health problems, including cancer. And chewing tobacco isn't safe either — it also may cause low sperm counts and damage. As if that weren't enough, tobacco use can increase erectile dysfunction. Research shows men who both smoke and drink alcohol have lower sperm counts and motility than do men with either habit alone.

8) Limiting Alcohol - Heavy drinking may reduce the quality and quantity of sperm. Limit alcohol to no more than one or two drinks a day The combination of tobacco and alcohol is particularly harmful.

9) Avoiding Recreational Drugs - Marijuana can decrease sperm density and motility and increase the number of abnormal sperm. Cocaine and opiates can contribute to erectile dysfunction, and amphetamines can decrease sex drive.

10) Avoiding Steroids - Anabolic steroids, usually taken illegally, can shrink the testicles and drastically reduce fertility. Anti-androgens used to treat prostate enlargement and cancer interfere with sperm production. Testosterone supplements also decrease fertility.

11) Skipping the Tub - To maximize the quality and quantity of your sperm, avoid hot tubs and baths. Spending more than 30 minutes in water 102 F (40 C) or above may lower your sperm count. Saunas and steam rooms may have a similar effect.

12) Staying Cool - Increased scrotal temperature can impair sperm production. Experts know that hot work environments, tight-fitting underpants, prolonged sitting, and use of laptop computers can all increase scrotal temperature. They are still studying how these activities affect fertility.

13) Not Using Lubricants during Sex - Personal lubricants, lotions, and even saliva can interfere with sperm motility.

Your Detoxification System

A toxin is defined as any compound that has a detrimental effect on cell function or structure; some toxins cause minimal negative effects while others can be fatal. Toxins damage the body in an insidious and cumulative manner. The body naturally processes toxins through the liver, kidneys, and lower intestines. These organs must function optimally for toxins to be adequately removed from the body before they damage tissue. If your detoxification system becomes overtaxed, toxic metabolites (by-products of metabolism) gradually accumulate and wreak havoc on normal body processes. Since all of your organs and functions are intimately connected, when basic body processes breakdown, your entire body deteriorates.

For example, the human body is composed of about 60 trillion cells of various shapes and functions. Every cell and tissue in the body is nourished by nutrients in the blood stream which are supplied through the intestines. The digestive tract converts food into valuable nutrients which are subsequently absorbed by the body. During this process, the digestive system produces a mucous substance which is normally excreted together with other waste matter. However, diets rich in processed foods and poor in fiber prevent proper elimination of this substance. As small amounts accumulate along the walls of the digestive tract, sluggish bowel movement and constipation occurs.

As colon walls cake up and passages of the colon get narrower and narrower, the digestive process of toxin extraction from food and elimination from the body becomes ineffective leading to a toxic colon condition. Undigested fecal matter in the body is one of the leading causes of diseases. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the average American male aged 50 has between 5 and 22 pounds of compacted fecal matter stuck in his digestive system. The subsequent contamination of the intestines leads to toxins entering the blood, tissues, and organs, and contaminating them as well.

The largest internal organ in the body is the liver. The liver works by both filtering toxins directly and by altering toxins so that they can be removed during other stages of detoxification. The liver filters toxins from about one liter of blood every minute. Some of these toxins are endotoxins (produced in the body) and exotoxins (from outside the body). These wastes are eliminated by the kidneys or the colon. Other toxins, composed of compounds that are difficult for the liver to filter, must be broken down with enzymes so that they can be removed. A properly functioning liver is vital to your health.

Serious toxin overload of the liver can easily occur. Toxins released from the liver must leave the body through the colon and kidneys. If a person is constipated, the toxins are not eliminated and are instead reabsorbed back into the liver. This occurs while new exotoxins are continually introduced into the body through medication, pesticides, cigarette smoke, pollution, impurities in food, bacteria, and other problematic substances in the environment; and concurrently new endotoxins are created in the body due to stress and lack of exercise.

The resulting blood pollution puts tremendous strain on the kidneys which normally process 200 quarts of blood daily to sift out waste products to keep blood clean and chemically balanced. The road to disease is soon paved with an improperly functioning liver, gummed up excretory system, strained kidneys, and a slew of toxins that bind to enzymes at the cellular level and neutralize them causing cells to stop functioning properly.

This toxin buildup initially expresses itself through minor symptoms like sluggishness, headaches, and acne, but later leads to life-threatening ailments like cancer, organ failure, and hormonal imbalances which cause obesity and diabetes. A study by the Columbia University School of Public Health estimates that 95 percent of cancer is caused by diet and environmental toxicity. Most Americans have between 400 and 800 chemicals stored in their bodies typically in fat cells.

Recommendations
You can clean your body and optimize your long-term health by:

1) Reversing Damage - Years of continual toxin ingestion have caused damage to your detoxification system. To help reverse this, Ayurtox releases hundreds of phytonutrients that act at the molecular level to remove metabolic waste and toxins from your body, stimulate and tone your gastrointestinal system, improve circulation, nourish muscle and connective tissues, prime vital organs like the liver and kidneys, strengthen your immune system, and soothe your nervous system to restore natural balance and harmony to your body.

2) Limiting Harmful Foods - Avoid processed and canned foods, dairy products (especially cheese), and junk foods which are full of toxins, low in nutritional value, and lack dietary fiber.

3) Eating Healthy Foods - Consume plenty of fresh, organic fruits and vegetables. Regularly eat home-cooked meals (without MSG or artificial sweeteners). Raw and slightly steamed vegetables are best for vitamins and nutrients. Dried beans and other dried items are better for cooking than canned foods.

4) Drinking Purified Water - Use a reputable water filtration system to ensure the cleanest possible water is available for your household. Water coming from public water supplies will at the least contain contaminants from old piping and usually has bacteria.

5) Increasing Fluid Intake - Purified water and freshly squeezed juices help flush toxins from your body. If possible, consume only broths, pureed vegetables, water, and juices to treat your body to a liquid diet and reduce burden to your digestive system one day a week.

6) Drinking Herbal Teas - Teas made from Fenugreek, Eucalyptus, Peppermint, and Spearmint help promote urination and bowel movement and remove mucus along with trapped viruses and bacteria from the body.

7) Treating Constipation - Take natural laxatives like Psyllium to ensure regular bowel movements which help prevent toxins from building up in the digestive tract.

8) Undertaking Spa Therapy - Steam bath, sauna, and massage help loosen toxins and remove them from your body.

9) Seeking Relaxation - Strive to get 6 to 8 hours of sleep every night and find quiet time for at least 5 minutes of meditation daily. Allowing your body to recuperate and keeping your mind at ease helps balance your nervous system and minimize harmful hormones produced by stressful living.

10) Reducing Exposure to Toxins - Avoid using artificial air fresheners, switch to natural brands of toiletries (cosmetics, soaps, shampoos, toothpaste), and use natural cleaning products.

Just as a country that seeks continued existence, it must be in a constant state of preparedness to face all kinds of threats and dangers from external and internal sources. If it fails to defend itself, no matter how well-developed and advanced a nation may be, it could be destroyed with the launching of a military offensive against it or even a well-directed and unanticipated terrorist act. The human body also has unseen enemies that are more resilient than others. In today's age of environmental toxins, viral and bacterial infections and the myriad of allergens that we are exposed to on a daily basis, serious measures must be taken to guard against them and to keep our internal defense system fully functional to protect ourselves against these threats.

The human body is made up of atoms. All atoms contain a nucleus and have electrons that circulate around the central body. Atoms connect to each other to form molecules by sharing or exchanging their electrons. In an example using water, it is formed by three atoms: two hydrogen and one oxygen. The electrons they share are locked into a stable compound making it difficult to break down. However, in some compounds, there is a "free radical," an electron that is not held firmly in the compound and so is "free" to break away and attach to another compound or body tissue. When they combine with another tissue, free radicals oxidize chemicals that form tissue, like oxygen turning iron to rust. Just as rust does not possess the strength of iron, oxidized tissues lose strength when they are damaged by oxidation. These free radicals are highly reactive chemical molecules, causing tissue damage and destructive effects upon the human body. Your body has built-in defenses against free radicals but they can be overwhelmed by the effects of stress, environmental pollutants, and age.

Western medicine relies on aggressive prescription drugs to deal with many problems related to immune-system dysfunction. Unfortunately, these methods often result in unwanted and even dangerous side effects. And natural pills only provide fleeting, inconsistent results.

Ayurveda, the science of life, prevention, and longevity, is the oldest and most holistic and comprehensive medical system available. Natural Approach to Prostate Health

Herb Catalog...here

Your Prostate Gland

The prostate is an exocrine gland of the male reproductive system. Its main function is to store and secrete a clear fluid that constitutes up to one-third of the volume of semen.

A healthy prostate is slightly larger than a walnut.

It is situated in front of the rectum, just below the bladder where urine is stored, and surrounds the tube (urethra) that carries urine from the body.
The gland functions as part of the male reproductive system by producing the white fluid that contains semen.

The prostate also contains smooth muscle that helps expel semen during ejaculation; thus, prostate problems can lead to impotence.

The prostate gland has four distinct glandular regions:

1. The Peripheral Zone (PZ) - The sub-capsular portion of the posterior aspect of the prostate gland which surrounds the distal urethra and comprises up to 70% of the normal prostate gland in young men. It is from this portion of the gland that more than 70% of prostatic cancers originate.

2. The Central Zone (CZ) - This zone constitutes approximately 25% of the normal prostate gland and surrounds the ejaculatory ducts. Central zone tumors account for more than 25% of all prostate cancers.

3. The Transition Zone (TZ) - This zone is responsible for 5% of the prostate volume and very rarely is associated with carcinoma. The transition zone surrounds the proximal urethra and is the region of the prostate gland which grows throughout your lifetime. It is involved in benign prostatic enlargement.

4. The Anterior Fibro-muscular zone - This zone accounts for approximately 5% of the prostatic weight, is usually devoid of glandular components, and composed only, as its name suggests, of muscle and fibrous tissue.

Prostate Disorders
Three types of disorders can occur in the prostate gland: inflammation or infection (prostatitis), enlargement (benign prostatic hyperplasia - BPH), and cancer.

Normal Inflamed Enlarged

1)... Prostatitis is a clinical term used to describe a wide spectrum of disorders ranging from bacterial infection to chronic pain syndromes. It is not contagious (generally not spread through sexual contact):

Acute Bacterial Prostatitis is the least common but easiest to diagnose and treat. It is caused by bacteria and comes suddenly with chills and fever, pain in the lower back and genital area, and burning or painful urination. Additional indications are excessive white blood cells and bacteria in the urine.

Chronic (Nonbacterial) Prostatitis (chronic pelvic pain syndrome) is the most common, but least understood, form of prostatitis. Found in men of any age from the late teens on, the symptoms go away and then return without warning, and may be inflammatory or non-inflammatory. In the inflammatory form, urine, semen, and other fluids from the prostate show no evidence of a known infecting organism, but do contain the kinds of cells the body usually produces to fight infection. In the non-inflammatory form, no evidence of inflammation, including infection-fighting cells, is present.

Asymptomatic Inflammatory Prostatitis is the diagnosis when there are no symptoms, but the patient has infection-fighting cells in the semen. It is often found when a doctor is looking for causes of infertility or is testing for prostate cancer.

2)... BPH, or benign prostatic hyperplasia, is the second common problem that can occur in the prostate. "Benign" means "not cancerous" and "hyperplasia" means "too much growth." As men age, the prostate gland slowly enlarges. The gland tends to expand in an area that doesn't expand with it, causing pressure on the urethra, which can lead to urinary problems. The urge to urinate frequently, a weak urine flow, breaks in urine stream, and dribbling are all symptoms of an enlarged prostate. At its worst, BPH can lead to a weak bladder, bladder or kidney infections, complete blockage in the flow of urine, and kidney failure.

Since the prostate has propensity to grow once manhood is reached, BPH is the most common prostate problem for men older than 50. The American Urological Association assesses that by age 60, more than half of American men will have BPH. By age 70, almost all men have some prostate enlargement. By age 85, about 90 percent of men have BPH but only 30 percent will exhibit symptoms!

3)...Prostate Cancer is one of the most common cancers in American men. There are no warning signs of symptoms of early prostate cancer. Once a malignant tumor causes the prostate gland to swell significantly, or once cancer spreads beyond the prostate, the following symptoms may be present:

A frequent need to urinate, especially at night
Difficulty starting or stopping the urinary stream
A weak or interrupted urinary stream
A painful or burning sensation during urination or ejaculation
Blood in urine or semen
Symptoms of advanced prostate cancer include:

Dull, incessant deep pain or stiffness in the pelvis, lower back, ribs or upper thighs; arthritic pain in the bones of those areas
Loss of weight and appetite
Fatigue
Nausea
Vomiting
